Swans on a stream at a hazy dawn

"Learn to get in touch with silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from."

Finding Ourselves

We all have hang-ups, guilt and doubts about ourselves and how we are living our lives. Finding Ourselves is where I want to help you see inside yourself. Each time I will pick a topic that I see that many of you are asking about, doing or don't understand. I want to teach you why this behavior is happening, what brings it on, what is behind the behavior and how you might find positive ways to handle your lack of control, your frustration, pain and confusion.

Remember your 'behaviors' are 'symptoms' not causes. I want you to remember no matter what you are doing, have done or are thinking of doing it is not your 'fault', because you learned how to react. This is not 'you'. But now you are growing up and you are responsible for all of your actions and the consequences they bring. And you will, no matter what you think, pay for your actions one way or another. Learn how to make your consequences work for you so you can be and get what you want. You can have so much power over your life it is amazing; the difference in a winner and a loser is how you see and act on your behavior.

The Need For Nurition

You have heard the saying "you are what you eat." Little did I know when I started my odyssey into the world of illness that those five little words really were true. Your diet can determine your level of pain, your mental attitude and of course how you feel in your body. Not to mention prevention of many problems if you eat the foods and take the vitamins and minerals that guard against many potential problems. Nobody knows everything about how foods affect our lives. Of course Eastern medicine knows much more than Western medicine. What I know is very limited compared to the experts in the area of nutrition. I can say with reasonable certainty that the diets that are served in our hospitals in this country are not in any way designed to contribute to your nutritional needs.

How many times since you have been in pain or ill or seen a doctor at all for that matter has he/she brought up and discussed a nutritional plan for you and your needs? As many doctors as I have seen, as many hospitals as I have been in not once did anyone discuss nutrition to me as being of any importance to my health. I certainly can not believe after all I have witnessed nutrition changing in my own health and body, that nutrition is not of vital importance in helping everyone regain, restore and keep their mental and physical health. For example, a major change that I implemented at the time to affect the drastic improvement of my nails was an element called Silica, which is Silicon. Silica is used to pull toxins out of our bodies. If you look into your eyes you will see yellow in there. Yellow is the toxic build up of "sulfur" pollutants that we are exposed to every day and that we take in from foods and drugs. This little element can work wonders. This is just an example of what knowledge of nutrition could do for all of us. There are so many things that our bodies use and need that are not in the "four food groups." The so called "four food groups" is so outdated yet they are still pushed as the correct way to get your nutrition. Silica alone is necessary for bone and connective tissue formation, there in lies my nails. Silica gives you strong bones, nails, hair and skin. It helps maintain flexible arteries and plays a major role in preventing cardiovascular disease. Silicon is important in the prevention of Alzheimer's disease and osteoporosis. That is just one element. I know it works because I watched as my body was transformed by this little element. I continue to take Silica today and will for the rest of my life. Our body produces Silicon in small amounts, this amount decreases as we age. Read about Silicon in any book that discusses vitamins, minerals and elements.
